English for Job Preparation

ECP is an intensive program consisting of two courses. English for the US Workplace provides language and communication instruction and understanding of American workplace culture. Career Planning in a Digital World prepares students for the modern job market by equipping them with essential digital and job search skills. ESOL 4 and 5 Students may enroll in both classes in one semester or in each class in successive semesters to earn a certificate or take each individually as a stand-alone course.

This program is an excellent opportunity for students to become acquainted with both the American workplace and our local community.

Students  will:

• Identify careers that are a match for their skills and interests
• Improve their English, job search and digital skills
• Learn vocabulary and recommended cultural practices for the workplace
• Gain financial literacy and money management skills

ProsperityME teachers will conduct a financial literacy and money management certification course.Students receive ongoing job search support throughout the course and for at least 12 months after graduation from the program. Prerequisite: CASAS score of 211-222, approved application and interview
