Programs
Portland Adult Education offers a variety of courses in four program areas.
Class Schedule
PAE offers courses in trimesters each school year:
Trimester 1: September - December
Trimester 2: January - March
Trimester 3: April - June
**Registration starts about one month before each trimester begins**
Courses are offered at various times throughout the school year to accommodate work and family schedules.
Enrichment
If you would like to learn a new language, join an exercise class or brush up on your art skills, Enrichment courses are for you.
Academics
The Academic program includes classes in Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies to help you achieve your goal.
Workforce
To gain skills for an entry level job, improve your skills for a promotion, or re-enter the workplace, look at our Workforce courses.
English Learning
This program includes courses in English, Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies.
High School Credentials
We can help you determine if a diploma or the HiSET (formerly GED) is the right credential for you.
New Mainers Resource Center
The New Mainers Resource Center (NMRC) is a program serving immigrants, refugees and employers in the Greater Portland area.
