Street Academy Year End Report
- The Street Academy staff has connected with 211
homeless youth during academic year 2003-2004.
- 122 (57%) of the youth are new to the Street
Academy
- 62 (29%) of the 211 have enrolled in the Street
Academy program
- 20 (9%) of the 211 have worked with the Street
Academy to enroll in other school programs (Portland High School,
Deering High School, Portland Adult Education, University of Southern
Maine)
- 93 (44%) of the 211 have worked with the Street
Academy on various educational issues and services: (transportation
to school, transcript interpretation, educational advising, tutoring,
identification, educational resources, advocacy and supplies)
- 56 (26%) of the 211 have received information
about Street Academy Services and have not made any further connections

51 youth came from a Portland School
84 youth came from a school in Maine outside of Portland
21 youth came from a state other than Maine
